About the position

The Project Office Engineer at E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. will support Capital Improvement Aviation Programs, focusing on airfield airport construction. This role requires a blend of engineering knowledge, construction management skills, and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contract documents and effective project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support Capital Improvement Aviation Programs.
  • Utilize engineering and construction knowledge for airfield airport construction.
  • Familiarity with construction management tools and software.
  • Prepare and manage FAA reports.
  • Handle payment applications and resolve quantity disputes.
  • Maintain documentation and monitor inspection requests from contractors.
  • Knowledge of VEO and Prolog for inspection/document control.
  • File and review RFIs and submittals, with some plan reading knowledge.
  • Communicate and interact with owners, city departments, contractors, and airlines, preferably with LAWA experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and management software for creating logs and charts.
  • Work modified schedules and overtime as required by construction activities.
  • Assist in onboarding new hires regarding parking services and badging questions.
  • Take meeting minutes during project meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between inspectors and project management/document control.
  • Coordinate inspector meetings with contractors and stakeholders, including organizing weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain and organize filing systems from pre-construction to project close-out.
  • Ensure compliance of inspector-issued documents with contract documents and owner's requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensed Engineer (preferably by CA Board of Engineers) is preferred; optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, etc.
  • 15 years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects, with demonstrable specialized experience.
