Project Penetration Tester

About the position

The position requires a skilled cybersecurity professional with a strong background in penetration testing and security analysis. The candidate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in systems and applications, conducting penetration tests, and providing recommendations for security improvements. The role involves extensive research, documentation, and effective communication of security risks and findings to clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Project Penetration testing in the UDN and Cloud environment.
• Perform static and dynamic application security testing.
• Simulate cyberattacks: Use hacking tools and techniques to perform attacks on a company's systems, networks, or applications.
• Identify vulnerabilities: Find gaps in security that hackers could exploit.
• Document actions: Create a report on what you did and how successfully you breached security protocols.
• Advise on security improvements: Suggest ways to fix or lower security risks to systems.
• Train users: Provide training to users to minimize future security risks.
• Assess physical security: Evaluate the security of network hardware devices and server systems physically.
• Participate in project meetings, coordinate security testing, and perform static and dynamic Project Penetration testing in the UDN and Cloud environment.

Requirements

• Industry standard cybersecurity certifications such as Ethical Hacking certification, certifications from SANS, ISC2, etc.
• Ability to fulfill all job responsibilities of penetration tester.
• Ability to analyze malware/exploits through forensics, observation of network traffic and using other tools and resources to determine if PG&E systems are vulnerable.
• Research and write in-depth reports and advisories on security risks to employees and operations.
• Expert in network security, vulnerability assessment, web application security, operating system knowledge, scripting, report writing, communication, social engineering, and a deep understanding of different network components and hacking techniques.
