About the position

The Project Portfolio-Cost Analyst is responsible for controlling and monitoring project expenditures, ensuring accurate recording of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. This role provides planning and cost-controlling support for various projects, including variation reporting and customer billing processes, to maintain project budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project control support to the Project Management (PM) team, including cost control and reporting, invoice tracking, and project status reports.
  • Conduct budget status reviews and committed cost analysis to avoid project cost overruns.
  • Support the development and implementation of change control processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Provide detailed cost reports, including forecasts and variance analysis, for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain overall project plans and communication networks for data gathering and analysis.
  • Implement and maintain cost control measures, reports, and cash flows for specific projects.
  • Facilitate forecasting/planning meetings and generate reports for the PM team.
  • Prepare, submit, and track bills for payment, resolving any inaccuracies.
  • Manage competing priorities and maintain supporting documentation for project materials.
  • Serve as the point of contact for project control-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of direct work experience in project control or financial analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Basic understanding of project cost forecasting and budgets.
  • Good basic math skills and advanced office equipment skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with the Oracle ERP system, specifically the Projects module.
  • Proficiency in Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
