About the position

The Project Portfolio Manager for Escalation Management & Prevention at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for overseeing the development and integration of project management standards, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. This role involves leading data analytics, resource optimization, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a project management expert. The position requires collaboration with various business leaders to prioritize projects and implement best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and integration of standards, processes, and tools to enhance project management efficiency.
  • Lead data analytics, resource optimization, risk management, gap analysis, and health reporting activities for project portfolios.
  • Serve as the project management expert and focal point for organizational project matters.
  • Partner with project and program owners to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with leaders to prioritize projects in accordance with strategic initiatives.
  • Manage project management policies and guidelines in line with governance standards.
  • Provide project readiness assessments and keep senior leadership informed for decision-making.
  • Identify and implement best practices for continuous improvement and productivity optimization.
  • Drive portfolio resource analysis during planning cycles.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
  • Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials.
  • Experience with SQL and Excel.
