About the position

The Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for creating, executing, and managing the procurement plan for projects. This role involves collaboration with various managers to develop strategies that meet project objectives related to cost, timing, and quality. The specialist oversees the entire procurement process, from supplier identification to the source-to-pay cycle, ensuring compliance and effective negotiation with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the procurement plan, from supplier identification through RFP solicitation, sourcing, contract negotiation, and purchase order (P.O.) creation.
  • Lead the overall development of procurement strategies to align with project and business goals.
  • Pre-qualify suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they meet project standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across construction, engineering, and project management.
  • Resolve disputes between internal teams and suppliers to maintain smooth project progression.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, focusing on mitigating risks.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Experience in procurement within industries such as construction, energy, oil & gas or high tech.
  • Experience in procurement for construction or project-based environments.
  • Project management experience.
