About the position

The Project/Program Management SIU Manager is responsible for managing one or more small to medium-sized programs/task orders, ensuring successful performance in line with agreements. This role involves budget management, scheduling, and overseeing client interactions, while also leading proposals for program expansion and new projects. The manager will mentor direct reports and support business development efforts, maintaining strong communication with customers and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the initiating and planning of program/project activities.
  • Manages the execution effort by controlling scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Manages customer interactions and expectations.
  • Provides significant support for proposal/pricing development for related new business.
  • Attends to staffing needs, such as interviewing, rewards & recognition, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
  • Provides leadership of task order proposals for new/follow-on work under a program.
  • Manages the evaluation of implications/risks on existing or proposed projects, programs, processes, and policies/laws and implements improvements.
  • Acts as technical lead on one or more tasks, conducting and overseeing quality assurance on major deliverables.
  • Reports on program status to clients and Company leadership.
  • Integrates vendor tasks into the project plan and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Acts as a mentor to all team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of experience as a project manager or team lead with budget management responsibilities.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
  • Ability to train and mentor others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in project planning and life cycle development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Project Manager (IAPM) Preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Preferred
