About the position

Metro Transit's Market and Business Development (MBD) group is seeking a Project/Program Manager I to support its three workgroups and assist in the delivery of special projects. This role requires a strong ability to utilize data and information to produce reports and presentations, alongside excellent communication skills for effective cross-team coordination and collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess good organizational skills to aid in project management and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail while supporting and tracking processes that intersect with procurement and contracting, billing and invoicing, and budget development and implementation. A commitment to equity and sustainability is essential, as is the promotion of an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment. The MBD group integrates transportation demand management (TDM) programming into a comprehensive array of mobility projects and programs aimed at increasing the use of transportation options throughout King County. The Business Programs team manages one of the largest employer transit benefit programs in the country, focusing on rebuilding ridership and enhancing participation and access to ORCA Business products among small and priority businesses, including BIPOC, queer, and women-owned businesses, as well as companies employing low-wage workers. The Fare Policy team is dedicated to internal and external coordination, policy development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring Metro's capacity to grow revenue, increase access to ORCA products/services through equitable pricing, and support a fare infrastructure grounded in social justice principles. In this position, you will work closely with each of the MBD teams, reporting directly to the MBD supervisor. This role offers an opportunity to build and develop a broad knowledge base and expand your project/program management toolkit. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and engagement skills, a strategic mindset, and be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to foster relationships and drive projects to completion. This recruitment will fill one (1) Project/Program Manager I position and may also generate an eligibility pool for future TLT/SDA vacancies within the Mobility Division, retained for 12 months from the date of posting.
