About the position

We are seeking a dynamic Project/Program Manager to join our mandate support team on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role will support a program that provides funding for compliance work, requiring strong program management skills to oversee a portfolio of 20-40 projects at a time. The ideal candidate will engage with IT and government teams early in the process to ensure smooth project execution and provide program KPIs and metrics using Power BI for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with program objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Engage with the IT team early in project lifecycles to facilitate planning and execution.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business partners, government team, and IT team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project needs.
  • Monitor the progress of program components to ensure goals, schedules, and benefits are met.
  • Document and present program outcomes through operational reports, including participating in L2 and L3 meetings and reporting to leadership.
  • Assist in deploying a new regulatory change management tool, coordinating closely with internal teams.
  • Handle vendor management and manage a portfolio of work with oversight of government projects.
  • Manage project priorities using 'Agile-Fall' methodology, balancing agile and waterfall approaches depending on the project's needs.
  • Drive innovation and provide out-of-the-box solutions for overcoming project challenges.
  • Support program progress through the use of Power BI for reporting metrics and maintaining updated project data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (preferred) OR 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • IT background is recommended, with healthcare industry experience being a plus but not required.
  • Strong soft skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in program management, with a focus on coordinating resources, monitoring progress, and adapting plans as needed.
  • Experience with Planview and Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly adapt, and climb a steep learning curve.
