About the position

The Project/Program Manager role is focused on supporting complex and high-risk projects critical to state government priorities. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to work independently while engaging with senior state officials. The ideal candidate will manage statewide project portfolio and IT investment management, ensuring adherence to PMBOK standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative project support, including document management and task coordination using established project management tools.
  • Update project schedules and maintain organized project repositories.
  • Manage logistics for project meetings and related support materials.
  • Facilitate technical reviews, processes, policies, and operations for projects.
  • Ensure completion of project documents and artifacts in alignment with PMBOK standards.
  • Coordinate with project sponsors and project teams.
  • Lead technical staff in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Report on project progress, tasks, and deliverables to project teams and sponsors.
  • Manage project scope and schedule for technical activities.
  • Collaborate with technical resources and external partners during design and testing phases.
  • Schedule quality assurance reviews for technical deliverables.
  • Address outstanding technical issues and manage project priorities.
  • Monitor, track, and report on action items.
  • Perform risk management and enforce effective change control.
  • Act as a change agent and apply organizational change management practices.
  • Mentor project members and foster positive working relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing IT-related projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
