About The Position

The Project Purchasing Manager at Cupertino Electric, Inc. will oversee the procurement process for a multiphase data center construction project. This role involves strategic purchasing of electrical commodities, vendor engagement, and collaboration with project teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials. The manager will implement purchasing plans, track material logistics, and maintain supplier relationships, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent industry experience.
• Five years of purchasing experience required, preferably in construction of electrical distribution.
• Technical competency in construction equipment and industry dynamics.
• Excellent project management, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and business judgment skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Experience in data center projects.
• Knowledge of electrical commodities and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the construction of a multiphase data center by managing the strategic buy out of electrical commodities.
• Onboard vendor engagement processes including RFP, QCS, submittal process, fabrication, and scheduling updates.
• Collaborate with the General Foreman to develop Bills of Material for specified phases of work.
• Interface with suppliers weekly to discuss upcoming phases, backorders, returns, and deliveries.
• Execute site purchasing programs such as onsite consignments and kitting.
• Track, expedite, and report on all materials coming to the site.
• Issue accurate purchase orders and assist Accounts Payable with discrepancies.
• Generate reports and assist in cleaning up outstanding commitments in the system.
• Develop and review performance scorecards with suppliers quarterly.
