As a Project Safety Coordinator at Haskell, you will play a crucial role in managing project-specific safety and health issues to ensure the protection of Haskell employees, contract partner employees, client personnel, and the general public. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and coordinating project activities to comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies related to project safety. Haskell is committed to providing you with the resources to help you grow and discover your potential, promoting an environment that encourages innovative ideas and allows you to develop the best methods to accomplish your tasks. In this position, you will participate in safety pre-planning and hazard analysis for projects, initiate and monitor project drug screening procedures, and conduct safety orientation and training for all employees and contract partners upon their arrival on site. You will also enforce The Haskell Company Code of Safe Practice throughout the project, support the project superintendent in safety efforts, and provide inspection and correction audits on a daily basis. Your role will require you to maintain follow-up procedures to ensure that all identified safety issues are corrected in a timely manner, and if any imminent dangers are identified, you will be responsible for stopping operations and protecting others from those hazards. Additionally, you will communicate with the assigned Regional Safety Supervisor on all project safety issues, conduct monthly Safety Evaluation Reports, and participate in pre-construction and subcontractor meetings to discuss safety-related issues. You will conduct weekly safety meetings with all project employees, enforce safety rules according to established disciplinary action guidelines, and maintain required employee training records and all project safety documentation. Your responsibilities will also include conducting accident investigations, assisting in the prompt reporting of incidents, inspecting and maintaining safety equipment, and issuing confined space and "hot work" permits as required. This role may also involve accompanying authorized outside entities on safety inspections and performing additional assignments as directed by your supervisor.
