The Project Safety Coordinator at TDIndustries is responsible for ensuring safety compliance at job sites through comprehensive inspections and training. This role involves conducting job-site safety inspections of buildings, facilities, tools, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations. The coordinator will provide site-specific safety orientations and training tailored to the work processes of the team members, ensuring that all personnel are well-informed about safety protocols and procedures. Additionally, the coordinator will investigate incidents to determine their root causes, circumstances, and contributing factors, providing recommendations and follow-up actions to prevent future occurrences. A thorough understanding of government safety regulations is essential, as the coordinator will maintain a comprehensive knowledge base to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment. In this role, the Project Safety Coordinator will perform documented job-site inspections and complete safety observations regularly. They will conduct ongoing assessments of site conditions and address any identified hazards promptly. The coordinator will also manage the inventory of safety supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and compliant with safety standards. They will be responsible for managing Safety Data Sheets and the onsite chemical inventory at each assigned job site, ensuring that all safety documentation is up to date and accessible. The coordinator will work closely with site leaders to plan for upcoming scopes of work, helping to identify and develop policies and procedures aimed at continuous improvement in safety practices. They will create agendas for weekly safety meetings and facilitate discussions on safety topics with the site team, fostering a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use technology effectively to enhance safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct job-site safety inspections of buildings, facilities, tools, and equipment.
  • Provide site-specific safety orientations and training applicable to work processes.

  • Responsible for managing Safety Data Sheets and onsite chemical inventory.
  • Train Partners on safety procedures, processes, and rules.
  • Monitor worker's compensation case management at the job site.
  • Communicate hazards and incidents to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies such as OSHA and local officials.
  • Plan for upcoming scopes of work with site leaders.
  • Create agendas for weekly safety meetings and facilitate discussions.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience required.
  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) is preferred.
  • Ability to use technology: computers and complex testing equipment.
  • Solid understanding of specific safety standards and government regulations.
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills to find solutions to unsafe working conditions and environmental concerns.
  • Excellent communication skills.
