About the position

The Project Safety Manager for the EV Battery Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio, plays a crucial role in fostering an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC) within the project teams. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining safety plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and leading safety initiatives on-site. The role involves generating incident reports, conducting safety audits, and facilitating safety training, all aimed at promoting a safe working environment for employees and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Project Safety Roadmap and Site Safety Plan.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Generate weekly Total Case Incident Reports and submit to project leadership.
• Lead incident and injury investigations with support from Production leadership.
• Assist during weekly toolbox safety meetings.
• Monitor and audit compliance of Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) and subcontractors with applicable safety standards and project requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or similar field preferred.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification required.
• CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred) and other safety certifications desired.
• 3 to 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in electrical safety.
• Willingness to obtain BCSP CHST certification or higher within 12 months.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the electrical industry consensus standards including NFPA, NESC, ASTM, and ANSI.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence behaviors.
