About the position

Havel is seeking a Project Sales Engineer to join our team at EMCOR Services Shambaugh (ESS). In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and consultation on HVAC, piping, and electrical systems. Your primary focus will be to work closely with customers to identify and provide solutions for repair and retrofit opportunities, emphasizing financial and energy-based solutions. As a Project Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in estimating, engineering, and selling retrofit, repair, and replacement mechanical projects. You will maintain relationships with existing customers while collaborating effectively with management and the sales team to achieve optimal results. Your responsibilities will include utilizing your cold calling skills to schedule appointments with new customers, ensuring that you are organized and possess strong time management skills to prioritize your workload effectively. You will identify key customers and develop specific action plans to grow those accounts. A significant part of your role will involve consistently discovering customer needs and current market opportunities, assembling and coordinating the sales team as needed for various projects. You will also be responsible for converting leads into opportunities by identifying the appropriate sales course of action, assembling the required sales team members, and leading the steps in the sales process. In addition, you will develop multiple relationships with buying influences within the customer's organization, which may include facility managers, project managers, or purchasing agents. Your success will be measured by your ability to maintain an acceptable rate of new sales and to fulfill other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Estimate, engineer, and sell retrofit, repair, and replacement mechanical projects.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and collaborate with management and the sales team.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, business management, or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in facilities or HVAC services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and piping systems for design, estimating, and sales.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical and financial skills.

  • Strong understanding and interest in modern technologies.
