About the position

The Project Search Lead Job Coach/Job Developer at Easterseals Redwood is responsible for providing job coaching and skills training support to students and interns participating in the Project Search program. This role involves assisting participants in job rotations at employer sites, facilitating job placement services, and helping individuals with developmental disabilities secure competitive employment. The position emphasizes building professional relationships with employers and educational institutions while promoting independence and skill development among participants.

Responsibilities

  • Provide job coaching and skills training support to students/interns in the Project Search program.
  • Support part-time coaches daily at Project Search sites.
  • Assist in job placement and development services for Project SEARCH students/interns.
  • Coach and train participants in various job rotations at employer job sites.
  • Assist participants in learning new job tasks and implementing job modifications as needed.
  • Attend Project SEARCH classroom activities and assist students/interns with projects or assignments.
  • Schedule informational interviews and job shadows for students/interns.
  • Conduct job development activities with students/interns preparing for community job search.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with schools and host business sites.
  • Educate interns on job leads, resume writing, interviewing skills, and application processes.
  • Accompany students/interns to employment sites and assist with communication and applications.
  • Develop job placement plans and complete job readiness assessments.
  • Encourage participants to increase independent work skills through various training methods.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of participant progress and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of experience in the field of developmental disabilities or relevant experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • CPR Certification within 90 days of start date.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to teach effectively.
  • Time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of discharge planning and interviewing techniques.
