About the position

The Project Security Coordinator at Parsons is responsible for providing technical guidance to project managers regarding security requirements for construction projects. This role involves planning, coordination, and implementation of security measures, ensuring compliance with Construction Security Standards, and addressing security-related issues during project meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with project managers to provide recommendations and guidance on maintaining required security requirements on Agency-wide projects.
  • Participate in construction project meetings with project teams and various stakeholders to address potential and active security-related issues.
  • Document and track security-related incidents/violations.
  • Conduct follow-ups with project managers to ensure identified security violations are resolved.
  • Provide written and oral guidance to project managers and project teams on equipment delivery procedures for construction projects.
  • Provide written and oral guidance to program managers and project teams on the development of construction compounds according to the Construction Standards.
  • Conduct project security inspections by surveying construction sites to ensure the correct security requirements are implemented and maintained.
  • Document and track security-related incidents/violations discovered during inspections.
  • Advise project managers when the need for officer support for project tasks is required; assist in the coordination to obtain officer support.
  • Provide construction security inspection reports within 48 hours after inspection completion.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract.
  • Minimum of five (5), preferably eight (8), years of experience in law enforcement or security.
  • Knowledgeable with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in construction security standards and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability in reviewing, editing, and creating construction security standards and/or procedures.
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in an effective manner with minimal direction.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and make repetitive motions.
