About the position

The Project Specialist II at Newpark Resources Inc. is responsible for managing customer projects from bid receipt to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. This role involves preparing project estimates, analyzing historical data for accurate cost projections, and coordinating project resources in a collaborative environment. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining a focus on safety, integrity, and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer projects from bid receipt to project completion.
  • Review and submit customer proposals, specifications, and drawings.
  • Prepare and review project estimates for customer proposals and bid documents.
  • Analyze historical data to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Answer technical and project logistics questions from customers and employees.
  • Ensure timely generation and documentation of estimates and quotes for proposals.
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimates.
  • Participate in bid strategy and presentation meetings.
  • Track job costs, develop revenue recognition units, and report on productivity analysis.
  • Coordinate and manage all necessary project resources from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule, including change orders and status communication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
  • 6 years of related oilfield experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of a single product segment/service in an operational area.
  • Intermediate understanding of customer requirements and operating area processes.
  • Ability to use skills and knowledge in problem recognition and solution development.
  • Competency with MS Office software and business unit proprietary software.
  • Ability to plan, forecast material requirements, and generate cost proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to risk assess technical options and propose mitigations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to mapping software such as AutoCAD, KMZ, Bluebeam, or MS Projects.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and practices within the Electrical Utility field.
