The Project Specialist Supervisor (IT Projects) position within the Hawaii State Judiciary is a critical role that involves overseeing complex IT projects. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, facilitating, coordinating, and managing various assignments under the direction of the Applications Division IT Officer. The supervisor will exercise significant judgment over project specialists and will be tasked with ensuring that multiple concurrent system developments, migrations, and upgrades are executed effectively. This includes creating essential project documents such as user guides, presentations, diagrams, scenarios, business process diagrams, and user security protocols. Stakeholders for these projects include judges, court administrators, subject matter experts, and external parties such as prosecutors and public defenders, as well as the Attorney General's office. The role requires a strong background in project management, particularly in the realm of information technology. The supervisor will need to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that project timelines and milestones are met. This position also demands a high level of analytical skills to solve complex problems logically and systematically, as well as the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering enterprise applications and will be familiar with defining and documenting business processes and system requirements, as well as developing user acceptance testing and functional specification documents. In addition to technical skills, the position requires supervisory experience, including planning and directing the work of others, assigning and reviewing their work, and training and developing new employees.
