We are currently seeking a Project Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis in the Delray Beach, FL area. This role involves overseeing structural design, renovation, and inspection projects, performing structural design and analysis of building structural systems, and designing and detailing structures for both low-rise and high-rise buildings using a variety of materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and timber. The successful candidate will also develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures, perform a variety of field inspections including threshold inspections, and develop corresponding site visit reports. Additionally, the Project Structural Engineer will work directly with clients to foster positive relationships and assist with the preparation of proposals for new and existing clients, including the estimation of project fees. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee structural design, renovation, and inspection projects.
  • Perform structural design & analysis of building structural systems.
  • Design and detailing of structures for low-rise & high-rise buildings with a variety of materials (i.e.: concrete, steel, masonry, and timber).
  • Develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures.
  • Perform a variety of field inspections (including threshold inspections) and develop corresponding site visit reports.
  • Work directly with clients to foster positive relationships.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals for new & existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related technical discipline (i.e.: Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, etc.).
  • 5 years of professional experience working in Engineering (preferably with Structural projects).
  • Active P.E. license in FL (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 8 months of their start date).

Nice-to-haves

  • Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to oversee multi-disciplinary projects is a plus!
  • Experience working with the design and analysis of a variety of structural systems / complex projects; experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus!
  • Experience working with structural inspections.
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD tools; experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM is a plus!
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM, STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad is preferred.
  • Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
