About the position
The Project Surveyor at Pennoni in Haddon Heights, NJ, is responsible for overseeing and managing survey and survey mapping projects. This role involves ensuring project profitability, safety, and quality while supporting engineering projects through various surveying tasks. The Project Surveyor will also be involved in client relationship management and strategic expansion of the department.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the professional supervision and management of survey and survey mapping projects.
- Preparation of estimates of survey needs/projects.
- Conducting boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, and topographic surveys.
- Plan preparation and construction layout.
- Scheduling field crews and ensuring project deadlines are met.
- Establishing strategies to expand the department within the market area.
- Developing and maintaining public and client relationships.
Requirements
- 8 - 12 years of relevant work experience.
- 4 - 7 years of management experience.
- Knowledge of modern survey methods and surveying devices, including total stations and GPS.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Computer skills required: Office 365; Carlson Survey; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Trimble Hardware and Software (TBC).
Nice-to-haves
- NJPLS or ability to obtain, a plus.
- Knowledge of MicroStation/OpenRoads is preferred.
- Familiarity with or desire to be involved with Leica High-Definition Laser Scanning (HDLS) equipment.
