About the position

The Project Surveyor at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is responsible for leading and managing survey projects within the Renewables / Power Division. This role involves overseeing project planning, execution, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The Project Surveyor serves as a subject matter expert in various survey-related activities and provides guidance and mentorship to project team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of survey projects and monitor operational effectiveness.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for survey-related activities such as construction staking, topographic surveying, and boundary analysis.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project tasks, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Evaluate project budgets, scope, and fees in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures related to survey activities.
• Conduct team meetings to evaluate and coordinate project progress.
• Stay current on trends, technology, software, and equipment relevant to surveying.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff.
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance for survey activities on each project.
• Lead by example, demonstrating solid judgment, trust, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Professional Survey License with multi-state licensure preferred.
• Four-year degree preferred and/or 10-plus years of experience in a consulting business.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects effectively.
