About the position

KPFF Survey is actively recruiting for a full-time Project Surveyor position in Eugene, Oregon. This role is ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of experience in surveying, particularly those who have worked in control, boundary, topographic, utility, ALTA, verification, and monitor surveying. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting field data using the latest survey-grade equipment, including conventional total stations, digital levels, GPS, 3D scanners, and drone lidar technology. The position involves collaboration with engineers, architects, landscape architects, developers, and public agencies, providing a diverse range of project experiences from urban settings in downtown Eugene to remote locations in eastern Oregon and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a background in survey project management or be a senior office technician seeking career advancement. This role requires leading a survey project team to deliver high-quality survey products safely, accurately, and professionally. As an experienced and licensed individual, the Project Surveyor will mentor a survey team on their career licensure path, assisting in the analysis and processing of various data sets, project management, and preparation/review of deliverables. Candidates who are already licensed in the State of Oregon as a Professional Land Surveyor are preferred, although those who can immediately sit for the exam will also be considered. The pay for this position ranges from $38 to $50 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect field data using survey-grade equipment including total stations, digital levels, GPS, 3D scanners, and drone lidar technology.
  • Lead a survey project team to deliver accurate and professional survey products.
  • Mentor survey team members on career licensure paths and professional development.
  • Analyze and process various sets of data for project deliverables.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and public agencies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in field data collection and processing in the surveying industry.
  • Current experience in field data analysis, review, and drafting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building and maintaining a client base.
  • Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Oregon.
