About the position

The Project Surveyor role at Galloway & Company, Inc. involves assisting in the creation of property boundaries for various projects, including roads, pipelines, and subdivisions. Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating property boundaries for roads, pipelines, facility sites, subdivisions, and other right of ways and easements under the direction of the survey project manager.
  • Participate in processing of 3-dimensional field data.
  • Prepare survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, etc.
  • Research project information and review survey field notes with the supervisor.
  • Prepare survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.
  • Provide construction-related services including construction plan interpretation and compute point data to provide to field crews.
  • Communicate with clients regarding project details and requirements.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise field staff and Survey Technicians as needed.
  • Assist in determining staffing needs and take an active role in the hiring and training of team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in surveying technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying.
  • Experience with mathematics, measurements, related research, and easements.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Ability to read plans and understand boundaries and topography.
  • Understanding of project schedules and budgets; can work efficiently within project guidelines.
  • Able to take a pre-employment and ongoing drug screen.
  • Typically, 6 to 10 years of Survey experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • LSIT or PLS preferred, but not required.
