About the position

As a Systems Engineer on the Project Team for Huntington Technology, you will play a key role in identifying, analyzing, and implementing technology solutions to address business challenges and opportunities. This position involves providing remote and onsite technical support to end users in small to medium-sized businesses, ensuring high levels of customer service and technical support. You will be responsible for managing client projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining customer loyalty through effective relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Solve client technical issues by providing the highest level of technical support.
  • Build out Hypervisor & ESX environments.
  • Migrate and upgrade Windows server environments.
  • Understand and manage Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO, IIS, and other Windows Server roles.
  • Configure firewalls, preferably FortiGate, Cisco, and SonicWALL.
  • Setup VPN and understand Cisco DUO configurations.
  • Maintain customer loyalty by exceeding client expectations.
  • Take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.
  • Support customers over the phone and on-site at client locations.
  • Answer phones and emails, evaluate client requests, and respond quickly.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate hardware and software systems.
  • Create detailed documentation on steps taken to identify and remediate issues.
  • Install, deploy, and troubleshoot primarily Windows-based computers.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server, and previous versions of Windows desktop/server OS.
  • Experience with Linux, OSX, iOS, and Android is helpful.
  • Understanding of Windows Professional machines in an Active Directory/Azure/Entra environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and other common desktop software.
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot industry line of business applications.
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals and TCP/IP.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Understanding of network and computer technologies including desktop hardware and software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience.
  • Computer related degree or certifications (MCITP: Desktop, A+, N+, CompTIA).
  • Knowledge of Professional Services (Autotask), Remote Management/Monitoring tools (Datto RMM), and documentation platforms (ITGlue).
