About the position

As a User Interface Designer at Lutron, you will participate in high-stakes projects from the start. Your contributions will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems. You will be a contributor within a cross-functional team, helping to conceptualize, design, and develop digital designs and processes that are innovative, intuitive, and high-quality to maximize the value to our customers. As a member of our team, your skills and passions will be nurtured while working in a collaborative environment through apprenticeship and supervision by industry experts. You will contribute to the development and production of digital products that will be directly received by our end users. Your contributions will utilize the following foundational areas: Development of world-class user interface designs for Lutron software applications, mobile apps, and web tools utilizing Figma; Definition and creation of a flexible and coherent design system with component libraries; Creation of design themes that provide the foundation for the visual design and navigation of the user interface; Close collaboration with design researchers, interaction designers, software developers, as well as product managers, business leaders, and marketing teams; Inspire other designers to create world-class work.

Responsibilities

  • Gather design inspiration through research and benchmarking
  • Utilize skills in design, layout, and color with an ability to iterate multiple design options
  • Develop a variety of visual styles to support Lutron's brand and product strategies
  • Ensure the work communicates clearly and delights users
  • Effectively communicate design choices and rationale
  • Drive to attain a mastery of User Interface Design as a discipline and a practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Visual Design, Graphic Design, or related field
  • 0-3 years experience in a related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
