About the position
H2M Architects + Engineers is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Water Resources team in Melville, NY. This role involves overseeing water planning and design projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, and fostering client relationships. The Project Engineer will coordinate with various departments, prepare construction documents, and supervise junior staff while implementing technology and managing project finances.
Responsibilities
- Project involvement and/or supervision of water planning and design projects.
- Provide water planning, design, and construction engineering services.
- Coordinate with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm.
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications for public bid.
- Build relationships and communicate directly with clients to support and coordinate project activities.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of all project requirements.
- Manage production and scheduling, quality control, and standardization.
- Supervise junior level staff and mentor them.
- Implement technology and manage project financial performance, including cost proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 7 years of water resources or related consulting and design experience.
- Strong client relations and technical writing skills.
- Ability to mentor and supervise junior level staff.
- Experience in wastewater project design and construction is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Chemical Bulk Storage (CBS) and Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS).
