About The Position

H2M Architects + Engineers is seeking a Project Engineer to join their Water Resources team in Melville, NY. This role involves overseeing water planning and design projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, and fostering client relationships. The Project Engineer will coordinate with various departments, prepare construction documents, and supervise junior staff while implementing technology and managing project finances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7 years of water resources or related consulting and design experience.
• Strong client relations and technical writing skills.
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior level staff.
• Experience in wastewater project design and construction is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Chemical Bulk Storage (CBS) and Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS).

Responsibilities

• Project involvement and/or supervision of water planning and design projects.
• Provide water planning, design, and construction engineering services.
• Coordinate with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm.
• Prepare construction drawings and specifications for public bid.
• Build relationships and communicate directly with clients to support and coordinate project activities.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of all project requirements.
• Manage production and scheduling, quality control, and standardization.
• Supervise junior level staff and mentor them.
• Implement technology and manage project financial performance, including cost proposals.
