About the position

Peoples Gas, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking passionate customer-focused individuals to join our team as Seasonal Project Workers in Chicago. This role is essential in representing our company and ensuring compliance and operational duties are performed effectively. As a Seasonal Project Worker, you will be responsible for conducting Inside Safety Inspections, performing shut-offs, engaging in service crew work, and executing meter reading tasks. You may be assigned to various shop locations throughout the city, and your work schedule may vary between Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday shifts. This seasonal opportunity typically spans from February to December and is subject to seasonal layoffs. Please note that the use of your personal vehicle may be required, and mileage reimbursement will be provided in lieu of a Company-issued vehicle. This position is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with UWUA Local 18007. The operational hours for the business unit are structured to accommodate various shifts, including Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 midnight. Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance and operations duties including Inside Safety Inspections.
  • Conduct shut-offs and service crew work.
  • Execute meter reading tasks.
  • Work at various shop locations throughout Chicago.
  • Adhere to the operational hours and shift schedules.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 1 or more years of experience in manual labor using hand tools, power tools, air tools, or small heavy equipment.
  • Experience working with the public, preferably in a customer-facing position.
  • Basic computer functionality skills, including operating a keyboard, mouse, navigating screens, and data entry.
