About the position

The IT Projects Financial Analyst will provide financial management support for IT projects, focusing on budget planning, cost tracking, and reporting. This role involves collaboration with project leads and the Enterprise Project Management Office to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines. The analyst will be responsible for generating reports, managing funding requests, and addressing any financial discrepancies that arise during project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Define project cost plans and budget plans
  • Manage the process of getting project cost plans approved as budget plans
  • Support LPLs and Project Leads in reviewing project actual costs
  • Coordinate with EPMO and IT Budget Controller to address issues related to cost plans and actual costs
  • Support in tracking project funding requests (DSRR's and AR's)
  • Track and report monthly Project Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions
  • Escalate cost under-runs or over-runs on projects above the variance threshold
  • Generate weekly/monthly reports to track portfolio costs (forecast and actuals)
  • Support Unit leads in defining support/enhancement cost plans and budget plans
  • Support Unit Leads in reviewing support/enhancement PR actual costs
  • Coordinate with EPMO and IT Budget Controller to address issues related to support/enhancement cost plans and actual costs
  • Support in tracking of support/enhancement funding requests and approvals
  • Track and report monthly support/enhancement Accrual and Re-class of non-labor transactions
  • Escalate cost under-runs or over-runs on support/enhancement PR's that are above the variance threshold
  • Generate weekly/monthly reports to track portfolio costs (forecast and actuals)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications
  • Experience working with SAP (financials)
  • Understanding of the financial approval process and budget release process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with IT Budgets and Financials
  • Mid-level IT Finance/Accounting experience with project management methodologies and deliverables
  • Strong working knowledge of Finances and Projects
  • Ability to track project deliverables and the finances affiliated
  • Experience tracking project budgets
  • Solid understanding of Purchase Orders and Statements of Work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Experience using Clarity tool
  • Experience working with Jira to track and manage requests
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Excellent internal and client-facing communication skills
  • Good synthesis, analysis and writing skills
  • Experience conducting C-level presentations, Excel reporting, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify ways to centralize processes and gain efficiency
  • Proven ability to multitask and track multiple work threads
  • Skilled in working with cross-functional teams
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with different levels of leadership
  • Comfortable asking questions, challenging processes, and making recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-haves

  • Automotive Finance experience is a plus
