About the position

The Promotions and Digital Media Coordinator at WURD Radio plays a crucial role in enhancing the station's visibility and engagement through effective coordination of events and digital marketing initiatives. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of on-site events and remote broadcasts, ensuring that all partner and sponsor program deliverables are met, and supporting digital engagement efforts for programming, sales, and membership initiatives. The role requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing & Growth and the broader WURD team to promote events and activities effectively. In this role, the coordinator will be tasked with managing various aspects of event coordination, which includes working evenings and weekends to ensure successful execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital marketing and promotions, particularly within a media context, and will be adept at project management and communication. They will also need to possess an analytical mindset to manage and report on radio station analytics, including website, social media, newsletters, and app metrics, generating insights that will inform strategic decisions. The coordinator will also assist in the implementation of graphic designs for print and digital projects related to WURD events, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to relevant stakeholders. This includes working closely with various departments, guest speakers, partners, and sponsors to ensure seamless event execution. Additionally, the coordinator will support the Director of Marketing & Growth in activating on-air ticket giveaways and promotions, as well as optimizing content on the WURD websites. Overall, this position is integral to the station's marketing and growth efforts, requiring a blend of creativity, organization, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement WURD Radio station on-site events and live broadcasts.
  • Assist with execution of Partner and Sponsor program deliverables.
  • Support digital engagement for programming, sales, and membership initiatives.
  • Manage all radio station analytics, generating regular and ad-hoc reports.
  • Assist in the posting and optimization of content on WURD websites.
  • Communicate necessary event information to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide coverage to Director of Marketing & Growth in case of emergency and vacation.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings as needed.
  • Participate in on-site events as required.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience managing digital marketing and/or promotions for a media company.
  • Strong organizational skills and analytic mindset.
  • Experience in data reporting and dashboards like Google Analytics.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of software platforms like WordPress, email marketing, content management, and social media management.
