About the position

Cumulus Media in Syracuse is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Part-time Promotions Brand Ambassadors to represent our radio stations at the New York State Fair. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to break into the radio industry, especially those with a passion for radio and an outgoing personality. The position involves working at our booth, which includes daily setup and teardown, running contests, engaging with fairgoers, and promoting our radio stations. The commitment begins with setup starting August 19th and continues through the Fair until September 3rd, with potential for a part-time position afterward. As a Promotions Brand Ambassador, you will be responsible for traveling around the area to represent Cumulus stations at various events. This includes setting up and breaking down pop-up tents and tables, hanging banners, interacting with listeners, and managing prize registrations. In addition to event duties, you will also handle prize fulfillment, event preparation, and contest building in the office. The ideal candidate will be charismatic, enjoy engaging with people, and have a love for radio. This role requires physical stamina, as you will be on your feet for extended periods and may need to lift up to 50 pounds. Key responsibilities also include assisting in the planning and execution of promotional events and digital campaigns, troubleshooting technical issues during broadcasts, and maintaining inventory for promotional materials. You will be expected to create engaging content for social media and assist with vehicle maintenance and inspections. This position is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, responsible, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down pop-up tents and tables at events.
  • Interact with listeners and register people to win prizes.
  • Handle prize fulfillment and event preparation in the office.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing promotional events and digital campaigns.
  • Execute proper technical and physical setup and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events.
  • Represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing, and friendly manner.
  • Perform data entry for promotional events and contesting.
  • Create e-blasts, social media posts, and website posts; review promotional information and graphics.
  • Maintain inventory and organization of the prize closet and promotional calendars.
  • Assist the Promotions and Marketing Department with various projects as needed in the office.
  • Assist with vehicle inspections, fueling, and coordinating maintenance.
  • Drive station vehicles with attached trailers as needed.

Requirements

  • No experience necessary, but customer service experience is helpful.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable with a flexible schedule, available to work at least 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented, and responsible.
  • Proficient in using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Event experience is a plus.
  • Strong social media skills with platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
