About the position

The Property Accountant position at a top-tier commercial real estate company in Franklin, TN, involves preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and managing reporting schedules. Responsibilities

• Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package, including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger review, and completion of bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate month-end close and production of financial statements.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and analyze variances.
• Analyze variances in financial statements and provide explanations to management.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Review setup of real estate leases and amendments.
• Assist with setting up accounting procedures for newly acquired properties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting experience is a plus.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Yardi experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 1-3 years of real estate accounting experience.
