About the position

The Property Accountant position at Coreland Companies is responsible for managing all accounting and reporting duties for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial statements and supporting schedules. This role requires collaboration with various departments and effective communication with clients, while also supporting other property accounting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Complete preparation of all supporting schedules, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Responsible for debt payments and preparation of distributions.
• Monitor cash account and prepare funding requests and money transfers when required.
• Prepare quarterly reports and/or miscellaneous client requests.
• Prepare information required for external audits and tax returns.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and CAM reconciliations.
• Review lease abstracts, billing adjustments, and move-in and move-out forms.
• Provide insurance and tax calculations.
• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships between departments and co-workers.
• Manage client communication as needed.
• Support other property accounting tasks as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with two years of hands-on property accounting experience.
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
• Pro-active, and detail-oriented team player.
• Experience with MRI, Yardi, and Avid is highly desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with creating and analyzing formulas.
