About the position

The Property Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of general ledger accounting duties within a complex, multi-entity environment for a publicly traded real estate client in the Denver area. This role offers opportunities for learning and growth while working alongside a team of positive and ambitious colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Performing general ledger tasks, including journal entries, cash transactions, and reconciliations
• Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements and bank reconciliations
• Analyzing financial data and variances to identify insights and trends
• Supporting internal and external audits with required documentation
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Assisting with system implementations and improvements in accounting practices
• Completing and filing sales & use tax returns, and obtaining necessary business licenses

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Solid general-ledger accounting skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to embrace change in a growing business
