About the position

The Property Accountant role at Robert Half is a long-term contract position focused on providing accounting support within the Real Estate - Sales & Lease industry. The position involves managing financial transactions, conducting General Ledger reconciliations, and overseeing accruals for a diverse portfolio of properties, primarily government buildings. The role requires proficiency in various accounting software systems and adherence to accounting regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting support for the property portfolio, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Conduct General Ledger reconciliations with precision and promptness.
  • Manage accruals and ensure they are prepared and posted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize accounting software systems effectively for all accounting functions.
  • Handle both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Use skills in Account Coding, ADP - Financial Services, AMSI, and AppFolio to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Leverage experience in Accrual Accounting to enhance the financial management of the property portfolio.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide necessary accounting support as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting regulations and standards in all tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Account Coding is essential for accurate financial management and tracking.
  • Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is required for streamlined payroll and HR processes.
  • Experience with AMSI for property management accounting and reporting is necessary.
  • Proficiency in AppFolio software for seamless property management and accounting practices.
  • Demonstrable understanding of all key Accounting Functions to ensure accurate financial management.
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Expertise in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles to accurately represent the financial status of the property.
  • Experience in Auditing to ensure compliance and accuracy of all financial transactions.
