About the position

The Property Accounting Associate at RPM Living is responsible for providing accounting administrative support for a portfolio of properties. This role involves tasks such as bank account reconciliations and assembling financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and effective internal controls. The position emphasizes a customer service approach and collaboration with the Property Accounting team to meet financial deadlines and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank account reconciliations regularly throughout the financial period to maintain an accurate daily cash balance.
• Assist the Property Accounting team in compiling monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controls.
• Assist the Property Accounting team in preparing financial packages for multiple clients with different reporting requirements.
• Assist the Property Accounting team in reviewing the appropriate reporting and recording journal entries to maintain income and revenue in industry specific software.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with Property Accountants and above in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
• Utilize systems/tools to complete work in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Yardi or similar industry-specific software is preferred.
• Ability to perform account reconciliation.

Nice-to-haves

• College coursework completed in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
