About the position

The Property Accounting Manager will lead a team in managing the accounting processes for oil and gas properties, ensuring accurate and timely monthly and year-end closes. This role requires expertise in general ledger management, revenue allocation, and account reconciliations, while also providing guidance and support to team members in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate and oversee the monthly close process for assigned properties.
• Mastermind revenue and JIB allocations and calculations, focusing on revenue.
• Meticulously review and post journal entries each month.
• Craft and scrutinize monthly accruals for revenue, expense, and capital expenditures.
• Ensure all journals are completed, documented, and reviewed with accuracy.
• Analyze and verify reconciled balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Lead the review of accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and JIB accounting.
• Oversee sales and use tax filings.
• Facilitate internal and external audit requests.
• Offer top-notch review, direction, and supervision to the team, providing support as needed.
• Handle additional oil and gas operational accounting tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or oil and gas accounting.
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with major ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong communication skills to connect with all levels of management.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure.
• Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
