About the position

The Field Property Adjuster at Allstate is responsible for providing exceptional service to policyholders by conducting on-site inspections, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims efficiently. This role requires traveling to customers' homes and handling virtual claims, with a focus on water losses. The adjuster will embody Allstate's Claims Culture by being empathetic and clear in communication, while also negotiating settlements and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections of property claims at customers' homes.
  • Investigate coverage and prepare estimates for claims settlements.
  • Handle virtual claims using various platforms and software such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, and third-party carriers.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of claims processes and decisions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through effective communication via phone, email, and video chat.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess damages and expedite claims settlements.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customers' homes.
  • Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with a 6/12 pitch.
  • Strong critical thinking and technical skills for assessing damages accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer service.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant estimating software is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
  • Experience with virtual claims handling is a plus.
