About the position

The position involves handling homeowner property field claims for American Family Insurance Claims Services (AFICS, Inc.) within the Atlanta metro area. The role focuses on investigating claims, conducting inspections, and negotiating settlements while providing excellent customer service. The position is primarily home-based, with significant fieldwork, and requires a valid driver's license and state-specific claims licensing.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims by contacting appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, and contractors.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed, handling claims on a good faith basis.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections when necessary, evaluates damages, and negotiates claims with insureds and claimants.
• Responds to customer inquiries and closes files.
• Interprets and determines policies and contract coverages for assigned losses.
• Proactively provides claim process updates and status to all parties.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions or service.
• Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Experience handling moderately complex claims or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages.
• Knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.

• Familiarity with writing estimates in Xactimate.
