About the position

The Property & G&A Accounting Manager position at Mountaire is a critical role responsible for overseeing and developing a skilled team focused on accounting activities related to property and general & administrative functions. This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy of financial information, which is vital for safeguarding the company's assets. The manager will handle daily and monthly accounting activities across all Mountaire operations, ensuring that all processes are executed with precision and in compliance with established standards. In this role, the manager will complete the month-end close process and reporting, maintaining a team of experienced staff to guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of all property and G&A activities. The manager will also be tasked with developing and implementing best practices and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Providing direction and support to the assigned team is crucial, as the manager will guide training and development efforts to increase team competency and commitment. Additionally, the manager will prepare ad-hoc reporting and analyses as needed, as well as manage special projects required by the Director of Shared Services. This includes assisting and supporting audit initiatives and monitoring, enforcing, and testing internal control systems. The preparation of the annual budget for the respective areas will also fall under the manager's responsibilities, along with directing and reviewing staff activities and other special projects as assigned. Promoting and maintaining a safe and secure work environment in accordance with Mountaire policies is also a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Completes the month-end close process and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 - 7 years' related work experience in a related field.
  • Understanding generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
