About the position

As a Property Insurance Claims Specialist at Balfour Beatty Investments, you will play a crucial role in processing and managing property insurance claims for a leading owner and manager of residential real estate. This position involves verifying insurance coverage, collecting necessary documentation, and collaborating with various departments to ensure efficient claims processing while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Processing and tracking property insurance claims.
• Verifying insurance coverage and collecting relevant supporting documentation.
• Reviewing general insurance-related matters.
• Studying documentation and assembling additional information from relevant sources including site teams and adjustors.
• Completing and recording forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Working with the Director of Insurance and Legal Department to approve any insurance adjustor settlements.
• Studying provisions of a policy or certificate.
• Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Following company policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as state and federal insurance regulations.
• Following customer service practices and responding to customer inquiries.
• Assembling documentation for settlement action.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or accounting.
• 3 years of experience in insurance claims processing.
• Knowledge of insurance-related policies.
• Proficient in analytical math.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Self-Insured Retention experience is a plus.
• Subrogation experience is a plus.
• Must have an active and valid driver's license.
