About the position

The Property Maintenance / General Handyman position is a full-time role focused on providing high-quality maintenance services to a condominium building and its grounds. The handyman will be responsible for various maintenance tasks, including painting, electrical work, plumbing, landscaping, and custodial duties. The role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork, with an emphasis on punctuality and respect for residents and fellow employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform painting and light carpentry work, including proper preparations and touch-ups in common areas.
  • Conduct electrical work such as changing light bulbs and installing basic fixtures, ensuring timely repairs within 24 hours of notification.
  • Handle plumbing maintenance in common areas, including unclogging toilets and temporary repairs of minor leaks.
  • Maintain landscaping and curb appeal of common areas.
  • Clean and wash down the pool area daily, monitor pool chemicals, and maintain utility and maintenance rooms.
  • Wipe down elevators and disinfect trash areas as needed.
  • Assist with heavy items and power wash common areas when directed.
  • Check mechanical items and report status to management, including monitoring for pipe leaks.
  • Review maintenance logs and security logs daily for issues that need attention.
  • Keep a neat and organized work area, manage inventory, and submit timecards accurately.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related apartment maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
  • Valid CADL and a clean DMV record.
  • Reliable transportation.
