About the position

The Property Maintenance Manager at Pacific Gardens is responsible for ensuring the facility is safe, attractive, and well-maintained while operating within the maintenance budget. This role involves collaborating with the Administrator and Director of Operations to address routine maintenance needs and ensure a high standard of living for residents. The position emphasizes effective communication, compassion for the elderly, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Administrator and Director of Operations to evaluate and address routine maintenance needs.
• Provide maintenance information to the Administrator and/or Director of Operations through weekly/monthly reports.
• Care for the routine maintenance needs of the facility and its residents.
• Assist the Administrator with fire and life safety training and drills.
• Maintain familiarity with life safety and operational systems in the facility.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents, staff, and the Administrator through a reporting system.
• Ensure a 24-hour repair/response time for all daily maintenance requests.
• Perform minor repairs and ensure the facility is mechanically sound and safe.
• Maintain neat interiors, ensuring paint and wall coverings are clean and free of damage.
• Oversee the maintenance of grounds, building exterior, and signage year-round.

Requirements

• Relevant work experience (2 plus years preferred).
• Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Basic reporting and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain full-time attendance.
