About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preserving the good condition and functionality of the premises through a variety of maintenance tasks. This role requires a motivated and skilled individual who can work autonomously while also taking direction from the property manager. The technician will ensure that buildings and common areas are maintained to meet health and safety standards, especially in preparation for audits by HUD representatives.

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Perform necessary manual repairs (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. cleaning) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)
• Perform occupied inspections with the Property Manager.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a property/multi-housing maintenance technician.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime as well as be on call for emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
