About the position
The Leasing Consultant at D.R. Horton is a customer-focused role aimed at helping prospective and current residents find and enjoy their new homes. This position involves managing the leasing process, providing exceptional service throughout the resident lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service, contributing to the overall success of the community.
Responsibilities
- Interact with prospective and current residents, communicating the value of living at a DHI Communities Build-To-Rent community.
- Manage the application process and follow up with prospective residents to finalize leasing decisions.
- Provide consistent service throughout the resident life cycle, responding quickly to concerns and questions.
- Manage lease expirations and secure renewals.
- Assist with community marketing activities and resident events.
- Complete various accounting, financial, and administrative reports.
- Ensure adherence to government regulations including Fair Housing, ADA, and OSHA.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
- Talent for executing sales skills, including generating leads and closing sales.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including CRM programs and MS Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in sales, leasing, retail, or customer service is a plus.
