About the position

The Affordable Property Manager will lead a 210-unit, HUD-funded affordable housing community, focusing on enhancing the lives of elderly and disabled residents. This role involves supervising a team, managing property operations, ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines, and fostering a supportive environment for residents. The manager will be responsible for financial success, program implementation, and creating a culture of excellence within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a dedicated team of six staff members.
  • Collaborate with residents, vendors, and agencies to create a welcoming environment.
  • Negotiate contracts and implement marketing plans to drive financial success.
  • Ensure programs and services support the independence and well-being of residents.
  • Manage HUD-funded program budgets and coordinate maintenance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD guidelines and continuously seek improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of stable work history in HUD-funded affordable housing.
  • Experience using Yardi software for property management.
  • 1 year of experience in property leasing.
  • 2 years of experience with Project-Based Section 8 housing.
  • 2 years of experience with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit).
  • Valid Driver's License.
