About the position

The Tax-Credit Property Manager will oversee the daily operations of a tax credit community in North Houston, ensuring compliance with regulations and maximizing occupancy while maintaining high resident satisfaction. This role involves managing property inspections, tenant applications, and vendor relationships, as well as developing marketing strategies to attract and retain residents.

Responsibilities

• Management of day-to-day operations of assigned tax credit property
• Conduct safety onsite team meetings and training
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax credit regulations
• Conduct regular property inspections and enforce lease agreements
• Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, budgets, and compliance documentation
• Oversee the tenant application process, incident reports, including credit/background screening, rental/income verification, state compliance and more
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain residents
• Coordinate/oversee maintenance and vendor repairs, ensuring high standards of property upkeep while staying within budget
• Prepare weekly and monthly regular reports for ownership and stakeholders regarding property performance
• Foster positive resident relations and address any concerns or issues promptly
• Collaborate with maintenance, leasing, and administrative staff to optimize operational efficiency

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in TAX CREDIT property management
• Strong knowledge of LIHTC regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in property management RealPage/Onesite software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Effective problem solver
• Reliability and punctuality are essential attributes for this position
• Proven leadership abilities in property management, leasing, and maintenance
• Comprehensive understanding of Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws
