About the position

The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a property, ensuring efficient management, maintaining supplier contracts, handling lease administration, and providing monthly reports. The role focuses on creating a positive experience for residents, associates, and clients while managing day-to-day operations, resident satisfaction, and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the property including resident satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee full resident lifecycle activities such as lease administration, rent collection, and delinquency management.
  • Handle property P&L and marketing in accordance with company standards.
  • Meet client expectations and provide excellent customer service.
  • Recruit, interview, and provide corrective feedback to associates.
  • Lead and communicate a shared vision with associates, providing coaching and development.
  • Execute the strategic marketing plan to attract and retain residents.
  • Respond to resident complaints and serve as a liaison to residents and the corporate office.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and publications.
  • Organize and implement site natural disaster and emergency evacuation plans.
  • Manage property and associate safety records, property loss claims, and risk management initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in property management is required.
  • One to two years of direct management experience is required.
  • Knowledge of resident rental lifecycle activities is required.
  • Real estate license is preferred or may be required in some locations.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.
  • Very strong organizational and time-management skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management are necessary.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
  • Ability to relay technical concerns with adequate detail is required.
  • Capability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in English is necessary.
  • Ability to use general office equipment is required.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people is required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software.
  • Knowledge of advanced property management techniques.
