About the position

New Directions Housing Corporation is seeking a Property Manager to oversee the management of residential properties, ensuring high occupancy rates and compliance with lease agreements. The role involves maintaining the physical integrity of the properties, managing resident communications, and fostering community relations. The Property Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance community growth and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all assigned properties at 96% or higher occupancy rate.
• Process Resident Certifications per regulatory timeframes.
• Handle monthly rent collections and address delinquencies.
• Conduct unit inspections and property walk-throughs.
• Respond to resident inquiries within 24 hours.
• Develop positive relationships with compliance agencies and community groups.
• Manage emergencies and provide incident reports as needed.
• Assist with department policies and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in property management.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and database systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing HUD properties.
• Knowledge of Federal, state, and local Fair Housing laws.
• Experience with Yardi software.
