About the position

The Property Manager role at Robert Half is a contract position focused on the effective operation of affordable housing properties. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of affordable housing, tax credits, and property management, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a positive living environment for tenants.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of affordable housing properties, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Apply a sound understanding of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations to ensure compliance.
• Conduct property inspections to ascertain the condition of the property and to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate leasing activities, monitor lease renewals, track vacancies, and market units to achieve maximum occupancy.
• Prepare and manage budgets and financial reports, and optimize the cost-effectiveness of operations.
• Work closely with tenants, responding professionally to their needs and resolving issues.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair work with vendors and ensure all tasks are performed according to set standards.
• Promote a positive living environment for tenants by enforcing property rules and regulations.
• Prepare reports for management regarding property performance and compliance with tax credit regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in local, state, and federal housing laws and regulations, including tax credit requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Property Manager in affordable housing; knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) rules is required.
• Solid understanding of property management principles and practices including budgeting, reporting, customer service, and maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, management, and residents both verbally and in writing.
