About the position

The Property Manager is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing the onsite team at a multi-family building. This position focuses on achieving financial goals, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, maintaining the property in excellent condition, and providing exceptional service to residents and tenants. The Property Manager acts as a coach and leader, driving the team towards success and fostering a positive living environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Approve invoices and manage vendor communications.
  • Gather and interpret market trends to implement marketing strategies.
  • Complete financial, leasing, and resident satisfaction reports.
  • Set rent rates and ensure timely collection of rents and fees.
  • Manage the financial performance of the property, including occupancy and rent growth.
  • Conduct periodic apartment inspections and enforce lease agreements.
  • Promote resident satisfaction and retention through effective communication and service.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Assist in managing client/owner relationships and provide property performance updates.
  • Lead recruiting and onboarding efforts for the onsite team.
  • Oversee resident relations and ensure exceptional experiences for residents.
  • Create a unique community environment for residents.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of onsite multifamily property management and leasing experience required.
  • 2 years in a supervisory role required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and residential software ERP systems like MRI, YARDI, or Entrada.
  • Strong organizational and process-oriented skills.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to implement solutions independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial management and reporting in property management.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing and other relevant regulations.
